When the Battle’s Over

The blind lead the mute
Or maybe just confused
Marching with their heads up their asses
They decide what’s called “best”
Disregarding all the rest
Of the ones outside their borders

A lazy step, we’ll walk around in circles
Marching with our eyes closed
Tripping over the same stone
All the while, never understanding
This path really can bring
Us to a better place

In the end when all is done
And the battle’s long been one
Maybe then we’ll realize
That it’s one world for one people
And our lives are all equal
But for now we’ve closed our eyes

Hurt them as they hurt us
Does that make it just
Why do we feel that we must
Pretend not to see
The world’s utmost hypocrisy
It doesn’t make any sense

Watch the world keep fighting and taking
Same mistakes we keep making
But can you imagine a place
Where the one’s in control
Think of the whole
Not only their own pasture
